IMPORTANT
Please be aware not all services for general Women's Health are covered by the Manitoba Government in which case you will be billed directly.
All fees in Canadian Dollars, plus applicable taxes, medication costs are not included, all payments are due in full prior to treatments. Visa, MasterCard, Debit and Certified Cheque welcome.
Manitoba Fertility Tax Credit
40% tax credit for the cost of fertility treatments to a maximum of a $8000 refund per year (40% of $20,000)
When combined with existing medical expense credits from the province (10.8%) and the federal government (15%), this means a tax credit of up to 66%. (NOTE: this essentially means a 50.8% provincial tax credit for fertility treatments, which is on par with the 50% tax credit in Quebec)
Treatments at an accredited infertility treatment clinic in Manitoba are eligible (currently, Heartland is the only such facility). The tax credit applies not just to IVF, but rather to other treatments and prescription drugs prescribed by the accredited clinic for both women and men.
The tax credit is claimable on a calendar year basis. For the 2010 tax year, the tax credit starts October 1, 2010.
Phone Calls to the Clinic
Please be considerate and review all information you have received carefully, look to the website at heartlandfertility.mb.ca for information and reserve your questions for your booked appointments.
Calls to the clinic can be quite time consuming and delay work adding to longer wait times.
If you feel you have an urgent question you can leave a message and we will endeavor to return your call as promptly as possible during regular office hours.
Charges may apply.
Medical Appointment Cancellation Policy
We strive to render excellent medical care to you and the rest of our patients. In an attempt to be consistent with this, we have a Medical Appointment Cancellation Policy that allows us to schedule appointments for all patients. When an appointment is scheduled, that time has been set aside for you and when it is missed, that time cannot be used to treat another patient, which increases waiting time for appointments.
Our policy is as follows:
We request that you please give our office a 48 hour notice in the event that you need to reschedule your appointment with the physician. This allows other patients to be scheduled into that appointment. It also makes it possible to reschedule your appointment more efficiently. If a patient misses an appointment without contacting our office, this is considered a missed appointment (“No-Show, No-Call.”) A fee, based on the type of appointment, will be charged to you for a missed appointment. If a patient accumulates a total of three (3) missed appointments, the patient may not be rescheduled for future appointments and will be asked to leave the practice.
If you have any questions regarding this policy, please let our staff know and we will be glad to clarify any questions you have.
We thank you for your patronage.
